IRS Representation
During our years of experience dealing with many taxing authorities, philtax has achieved a level of competence that can ensure our clients that they are being properly represented before the various federal and state tax agencies. IRS Representation is a primary area of our expertise. We understand how IRS operates and know how to do business with them. We know what your rights are, and even more importantly, we know what the IRS is allowed and is not allowed to do.
IRS Audits
IRS has become much more efficient at selecting returns for examination. If you are unlucky enough to be chosen, it would put you at great risk to represent yourself. It would also put you at great risk to have someone inexperienced or not knowledgeable enough represent you. We know how they operate in an audit and we know what is needed to protect the client. We will have an understanding of the issues at hand and prepare the strongest defense possible for you to prevail.
IRS Problem Resolution
We have a high degree of experience in dealing with taxpayers who have unpaid debts to the government agencies and/or prior year non-filed returns. We tell you the truth. Ask us about our “Mini Representation Package.” For a reasonable fee, we find out what you are up against and give you our analysis.
Non-Filers
Have you failed to file some returns or fallen behind in your tax filings? Are you missing the necessary records? We can get you caught up. One thing we can tell you is that they are not going to go away. Even if you are not being hassled now, you may never be able to stop looking over your shoulder unless you deal with the situation.
Did you fail to respond to IRS or state communication and has one of those governments created a return for you which suits their needs? There are many reasons why you do not want to leave this in place. We can help you replace that with a true tax return filed by you.
The results of an IRS-created return are rarely positive for the taxpayer. We have a system for acquiring all the necessary information needed to file any missing returns or replacements for IRS-created returns.
IRS Collection Alternatives
The letters will not stop. Someday, when you least expect it, they will raid your bank account and help themselves to your money. Do not let it go that far. Discussions should be initiated before it comes down to that. We can explore various installment plan possibilities, including an installment plan where they agree to collect less than you owe them up to the time the statute of limitations for collections runs out. We may also be able to get IRS to change your account to “Currently Not Collectible.” Please understand that this does not make your debt go away or become resolved. It does, however, give you some breathing room to figure out your next steps while they do not engage in any enforcement activities against you. In some cases, you may qualify for an Offer in Compromise. Please see next paragraph.
Offer in Compromise
In some case, the Internal Revenue Service may be willing to settle your account for an amount less that you owe for all your combined balances. The amazing news is that under new initiatives, this has recently become more favorable for the taxpayer than it ever has been. We can help determine if this solution will work for you and help you make the offer.
